Alleged alien sets Australian house ablaze (June 2011)

For the 12th time, a young Australian man named Alex has uploaded footage of an alleged alien sighting to his YouTube channel.  The videos have been around since about 8 months ago when the first sighting was recorded while he was testing his new night vision camera.  The YouTube channel (user) uploading these videos is known as “ThePolishedKnob”.

I’ll show you the video and run down what happens to explain the scenario after you’ve watched it.

Here it is:

Warning! The following video has intense and plentiful swearing.  It’s suggested to leave sound on throughout the video regardless of the swearing, as it may give a better feel for the video.

0:05 – View of the back yard filmed through a night vision camera.  The backyard has tall grass in the distance that the alien hides behind.  On a stick is two pieces of paper, which might look like the ‘alien’ at first but is just paper that was intended to ‘send a message of peace’ to the being.

0:09 – The being points what seems to be a red laser towards the camera and the wall of the house catches flame.

0:14 – Alex, the video recorder, picks up a bucket full of water and splashes it onto the wall, dousing the flames.

0:22 – Alex retreats into the house, closing the sliding glass door behind him, trying to find the stick he made earlier with the paper on it through the screen but unable to see it properly.

0:55 – Alex claims he heard something ‘down here’.   He runs down the hall and tries to find it, insisting to the camera that he heard something.  He continues, seeming genuinely afraid, to look around the room and a flight of stairs to find the source of the noise, but finds nothing.

1:39 – The back sliding glass door is opened and reveals a very bright light.  This is because the camera is out of focus.  It’s not actually that bright.

1:48 – Night vision is turned off, revealing the red of the fire, still out of focus.

2:08 – Focus is regained, showing the flames.

2:11 – Alex pans the camera, whispering “Where is it?”.

2:15 – Night vision is back on.

The Fire:

Some people seem to think the video is a hoax (some more so than others), according to the video comments on YouTube.  The first suspicion is that brick can’t burn unless under extreme heat and that it looked as if lighter fluid had been poured over the wall.

I disagree, it doesn’t really look like that, but I’ve never seen lighter fluid on a wall, so what do I know?  I just think it’d spread and leak down the wall more, rather than making patches like the fire.

Watching from 0:09 for a couple seconds, you can see the red circle of light from the being’s laser slide along the wall, and apparently the bricks on the bottom of the wall light up as a cause of this, or so it seems.

Now, I’m not saying I’m totally with the video’s authenticity – I have my doubts, too – I’m just saying this doesn’t sound like a valid argument.  It does also seem like, if this alien could travel between planets or other dimensions, there’s a chance it can also inflict extreme heat with its laser.

The Buckets:

Another argument would be the so conveniently placed bucket full of water.

I disagree here, too.  It doesn’t mean that the bucket was purposefully placed there.  It was convenient, yes, but there are many reasons to have buckets on your deck.  First, people put buckets or similar containers out to collect rainwater.  They’re placed just under the edge of the roof so extra water from the roof (assuming there is no gutter) slides into the bucket, which fills quick even in light rain.  This is helpful for watering your plants, especially if your area is witnessing a drought at current (though you might not be getting so much rain in that case).  Also, in a later video (posted below), Alex addresses this, noting on the comments in the video claiming the bucket was too convenient.  He says that he always keeps buckets out, shows you how murky they are (water left out for a while tends to collect a lot of stuff, trust me, I have containers outside under the roof) inside, and shows you the rings on the patio from the buckets sitting there so long.

Alex does react rather quickly to this new ordeal of flaming bricks, yes, but he is a rather brave person if you think about it.  He has in past sightings walked out into the yard and tried to talk to the being, communicate with a flash light, and so on.  Once, he was even dragged away by the alien and into the grass.

He also seems genuinely fearful in the video, and his voice constantly cracks and he seems afraid when he’s searching the house for the noise.  He has reason to be afraid, though, after what he’s gone through.

The Morning After:

The next morning Alex posted a video detailing the scenario, where the alien was standing, etc.

Here it is.

Warning! There will be swearing in this video, too.

You can clearly see the bricks, which do look blackened in many spots.  The way they’re burnt is really rather fitting to the way they were supposed to be burnt: by the red circle of light emitted from the laser.  It looks like the marks were made with a circular device in mind.

He also addresses the buckets as I mentioned earlier, showing the murky water and rings on the patio where past buckets were left.

He slips in an “I’m so sick of this sh**” as he walks down to the tall grass.

The stick that held the two pieces of paper was blackened and the top seemed burned off.  Alex notes on how the papers on the stick are nowhere to be found – totally burned away.

The “hole” and “string traps” he mentions are two things he set to try and help find the alien.  He dug a hole, fairly deep, to see if the alien was dumb enough to fall in it, and laid grass out over it.  It seemed to have fallen in, but there is no footage of that, only scratch marks on one of the rocks after the grass has been upset in one of the many “hole vlogs” updating you on the progress.

By the advice of another YouTube user, he also set clever traps with strings on them, one string one foot into the air, another two, another three, something like that.  These strings were each wound around two sticks that were aligned with each other and set a little over a yard apart.  The point was to measure how tall passersby were when the strings were broken; if one was broken, it was one foot or so tall.  Two strings, two feet tall, and so on.  These were broken a few times, but once again, no real proof or video footage.

Later he talks about not knowing what to do, how he thinks he’s “pissed it off”.

He also notes on how, from where the being was standing in the yard, the part of the wall that burned was directly next to the stick, and that other YouTube comments say that it missed the stick on accident with its laser and pointed at the wall by accident, causing it to burn instead of the stick.  Alex says he believes that’s what happened.

Alien sighted for the ninth time in Australia (Video Included)

For a while now, a young man in Australia has been uploading videos to YouTube regarding what he believes is an alien in his back yard.  This is an update on the ninth sighting.

It’s suggested that you see my post on the rest of the sightings by clicking here if you haven’t already read it.

So here’s the video:

This time, the recorder is trying to communicate with the being using a flashlight and speech.  He sets up the camera and walks down a bit further into his yard, off of the deck and onto the grass.

Around 1:45, the being begins rustling the tall grass around it and the recorder steps back.  He says he now thinks he “pissed it off” with his attempts at communication.

The YouTube user “ThePolishedKnob” is the one uploading these videos.  The channel has about 800 subscribers as of now.  There are 9 sighting videos as of now.

Has a real alien finally been accurately recorded in Australia?

A young man in Australia has  been uploading quite a few videos to YouTube lately regarding an ‘alien’ in his back yard.  These aren’t your typical videos posted by internet trolls; they’re actually quite realistic.

The Situation:

The video depicts a small alien that shows up, slightly concealed behind tall grass, and flashes a red light that looks similar to a laser pointer into the house or at the recorder.  Here is the latest, 8th sighting:

WARNING!  The following video is filled with swearing and obscene language.  If you do not want to hear this language, you may mute the sound by either turning off your speakers or hitting the sound button on the YouTube video in the bottom left corner.  It is suggested that you leave sound on, as it may give a better understanding to the video.

Don’t forget to turn the quality of the video as high as you can before watching!

0:37 – the being is first spotted

1:10 – the being emits the red light in the direction of the camera

1:32 – the power suddenly goes out and all lights in the house turn off

2:11 – the recorder says “Oh, I left the door open” followed by “I’m staying here”

2:29 – a smashing noise is heard and the recorder travels up the stairs to see if a window was smashed

3:23 – the power comes back on

3:47 – you can hear the being retreating

Many people are saying the recorder doesn’t sound genuinely afraid, which is what you’d expect if there was an alien in your backyard.  His friend offers no help to the case, merely repeating ‘nuh’ about 100 times throughout the video.

There are a few fear indicators in the video, however, that seem to hint that the recorder is scared.  First, at 1:10, when the being begins emitting a ray of light, the recorder jumps back inside and hides behind part of the wall.

Second, at 2:11, once the power is out and the camera pans back to the open door, the recorder says “Oh, I left the door open” and then says “I’m staying here”.  This is probably because he didn’t want to go to the door, not when the power had just gone out and a being was walking around in his back yard.  Not many young men would have the guts to go up and look out the door.

Later, a smashing noise is heard, which is purported to be a pot in the recorder’s yard.  This pot was later shown in a video uploaded by the recorder, smashed and being unloaded into a trash can.  He is offering the pieces to anyone who wants them, to run analysis or tests.  Here’s the video showing the bits of the pot:

The video shows the smashed pottery bits on the foot of the stairs to the deck.

This indicates that the being was perhaps trying to make its way up the steps and into the house where it accidentally smashed the pot.  This isn’t necessarily cold hard proof, but I felt it necessary to note it.

A couple in Australia has a close-to-collision experience with a UFO

An elderly Australian couple claim they had a close encounter with a UFO while traveling along a Northern Territory highway.

Lawrie Fuchs, 70, and his wife Gwen, 69, were returning to their home town of Elliott following a trip to the neighboring state of Queensland last Friday when they say the UFO swooped them as they drove along the Barkly Highway.

Estimated to be about 20 feet wide, they say the object passed the vehicle with such speed that its slipstream forced their Mazda sedan into the middle of the road.

They were traveling in a westerly direction when the incident occurred.

“It was about 4 p.m. when suddenly we saw a dark, silvery flash and heard a loud sound as it passed,” Mr. Fuchs said.

“It was traveling at a terrific speed, very bloody fast, and there was no warning at all. I’m sure it dive-bombed us but I can’t imagine why.”

The above information was found on Fox News.  The below information was found at Northern Territory News, which Fox News links to.  These links will open in a new window.

“I do a lot of bush work and over the years I’ve seen a number of strange, unexplained things,” he said.

Mrs Fuchs said she saw a little flash just below the sun visor then heard a loud whoosh as it passed over.

“I actually thought it hit the car, but there were no marks,” she said.

Mr Fuchs, a mechanic who has lived in Elliot for 40 years, says he took the incident in his stride.

“I don’t talk about it much because sometimes people don’t take you seriously.”

Last week, another man reported seeing a UFO near Tennant Creek. Alan Martin, who is deaf, was obviously shaken by his experience. The Aboriginal man in his 40s had bought alcohol and headed alone into scrub land to avoid being humbugged.

He described seeing a disc-shaped object at close range. His drawing indicated it had red, green and blue lights.

6 Opinions for believers and non-believers alike on UFOs and alien life

I’ve been thinking about all of the opinions people have when it comes to alien life.  I have a little list here made out to state some of the opinions people may use in arguments or other conversations.  Please note that some of these opinions are held by people who believe in alien life and some by people who do not believe in alien life.  These opinions aren’t just my opinion, some of them I strongly disagree with.

#1: The universe is far too big for Earth to hold the only intelligent life

This is a common opinion that most alien-life-believers will use.  They simply say that the universe is huge and that Earth can’t possibly be the only planet to hold life.  If there are so many planets and stars and such out there, then who knows how many of them could hold other life?

#2: Alien technology could work in many ways

This opinion is used by believers.  The opinion basically says that alien technology could be spectacular and that it could work in ways we thought impossible.  Most UFO sightings will  say that there was no noise when the UFO came and left.  Which people could use as a point against alien believers, because most aircraft makes noise.  Opinion #2 could be used to say that it’s possible that alien life could have developed engines that don’t make noise.  When people say Opinion #2, it’s pretty much their way of opening up a lot of ways that UFOs could actually be alien spacecraft.

#3: If even a small percentage of UFO sightings were actually alien spacecraft, then surely they would’ve made contact with us by now

This opinion is used by non-believers.  It simply states that UFO sightings have been going on for a long time and surely, if even a small amount of the UFOs were actually alien spacecraft, then certainly they would’ve made some sort of contact with us.  Every day, thousands of UFOs are spotted, but none of them seem to have made any contact with us.  It can be argued that people have been abducted, but most of those stories are pretty insane.  It can also be argued that UFOs could be ‘studying’ us until they’ve learned our language or found some other information they may need.  We don’t really know at this point.  Now, as I said, there are reports of people that have been abducted by UFOs, but those stories are hard to believe because they are so crazy.

#4: Alien life is real, the government is just hiding it from us

This opinion isn’t really used in arguments very much, it’s just something that starts arguments.  This is a pretty crazy accusation, and I myself don’t think very much of it.  It’s pretty insane to think that the government is hiding something so major from us.  Surely if there actually was alien life, they would’ve told us.  This opinion is so sensitive that I won’t talk very much about it.

#5: There are so many UFO sightings daily, there’s no way they could all be coincidence

This opinion, another opinion used by believers, is using the number of daily UFO sightings as a hunch.  There are a lot of UFO sightings every day and most of them seem to be unexplained, though a very high number are also explainable.  Certainly not all of these UFO sightings could just be objects in the air?  There has to be something behind all of these sightings, right?

#6: People see what they believe.

Used by non-believers, this opinion is short and sweet.  It simply says that people are expecting to see lights in the sky and other UFOs so much that they simply imagine it, and that only encourages them that aliens exist, which makes them expect even more.  Very simple, though I’m not sure if anyone has studied if it’s actually possible for the brain to imagine things like this.  It sounds pretty plausible to me.  Maybe some sort of doctor/scientist will address this matter or maybe they already have and I missed it.

So now that you’ve read some of the opinions, you can comment on your thoughts or just keep them to yourself if you want.  Please remember that I’m trying to stay at a neutral stand with believers and non-believers so as not to cause any unwanted arguments or fights.

Also, these are just a few of the thousands of original opinions people have on this subject.  There are a lot of opinions out there and most of them are sensitive matters that cause arguments quickly as people compare opinions to see which one is more foolproof.

If you have any suggestions for opinions I could add, simply leave them in a comment.

Mysterious Calf Mutilations

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.

But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.

Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don’t know what’s killing the calves.

“There’s nothing really to go by,” said Sanchez, who’s ranched for nearly 50 years. “I can’t figure it out.”

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office told The Pueblo Chieftain that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.

“I’ve butchered a cow before and I know what kind of a mess it leaves,” Sgt. James Chavez said.
